Morris and Parfitt win British GT title

AN action- packed season finale at Donington Park Grand Prix Circuit saw Loughborough College race ace Seb Morris and team-mate Rick Parfitt Jnr win the 2017 British GT Championship title .

A history-making GT3 championship victory first in British GT for Bentley, it was the duo’s fourth podium of the season driving the Continental with BRDC star Morris, who recently completed his MSA programme studies with Loughborough College, and Parfitt Jr. winning by a margin of 33 with 200 points.

The pair go into the record books as champions in the UK’s premier endurance racing series’ 25th anniversary year. Morris and Parfitt Jr. also added this year’s GT3 ProAm title to their overall championship.

“It feels unbelievable and very emotional”, said Loughborough College alumnus Morris after the race.

“It was an interesting race, that’s for sure, but in the end we did what we needed to do. It’s not been a bad year! We’ve had a few wins, a few podiums, a few fastest laps and a big old pot at the end, which is always nice.

“We haven’t put a foot wrong, Bentley have been a massive help and have given us a fantastic car alongside M-Sport, Team Parker and all our sponsors. I really want to say thank you to my family.

“Rick has done an amazing job, he hasn’t made a mistake all year, and I haven’t done a bad job myself! We all deserve this, everyone has worked so hard.

“To win this championship you have to put every link in the chain together and I think we did that this year.”
