Revamped post office to open longer
SHEPSHED Post Office’s opening hours are to be extended following a modernisation of the branch.
A newly modernised main branch will launch at 1pm on Monday, October 16 which will include two new digital counters.
The refurbished branch will open from 9am till 5.30pm on Monday to Saturday.
The new opening hours will increase by an extra five hours on Saturday afternoons.
The new-look Post Office will mean residents and small business customers will be able to access a wide range of Post Office and mails services, including international parcels, special delivery, local collect and home shopping returns, make cash withdrawals from a Post Office card account, send funds abroad using Moneygram, pay bills, buy holiday money, get insurance, mortgages and savings and top up mobile phones.
The office at 7 Market Place, Shepshed, will need to close for five days in order for the refurbishment to take place.
It will close at 5.30pm on Wednesday, October 11 for the refurbishment to take place, re -opening again on Monday, October 16 at 1pm.
During this short period of closure Post Office services may be accessed from any convenient Post Office branch, including:
· Gorse Covert Post Office, Unit 3, Gorse Covert Shopping Centre, Maxwell Drive Loughborough LE11 4RZ
· Bedford Square Post Office, 50 Wards End, Loughborough LE11 3HB
Fiona Shanahan, area manager said: “We are making it easier for customers to get their cash, send and collect their mail and do their banking because we know how important these services are to local residents.”
