Medal success for Loughborou­gh swimmers at Leicester Penguins open meeting

A SMALL group of Loughborou­gh Town swimmers attended the Leicester Penguins Open Meet over the weekend.

Mia Larke tooK gold in the 50m, 100m and 200m breaststro­ke in the 16 years and over age group.

She also won bronze in the 50m freestyle. George Larke continued the family success taking gold in the 13 years 100m Individual Medley, silver in the 50m and 100m breaststro­ke and bronze in the 100m freestyle.

Thomas Chamberlai­n had a very successful weekend winning bronze medals in 50m butterfly and 100m Individual Medley - Thomas also swam numerous personal best times and achieved County Qualifying Times.

Ten-year-old Thomas Macmanard won gold in 100m backstroke and 50m freestyle and was third in the 50m backstroke and 100m freestyle.

Will Stone won bronze in the 50m, 100m and 200m breaststro­ke and 200m backstroke.

Other members of the successful team many of whom achieved Personal best times and County times were: Adelaide Biggs, Cerys Peach, Hollie Bacon, Francesca Palfrey, Rosie Moakes, Imogen Sherman, Toby James and Josh Welford.
