Impressive win for Shepshed Dynamo

- TOTAL MOTION MIDLAND FOOTBALL LEAGUE SHEPSHED DYNAMO 3 BROMSGROVE SPORTING 0

SHEPSHED Dynamo made it two home clean sheets on the trot in inflicting only second placed Bromsgrove Sporting’s second defeat of the season.

A complete team performance saw Dynamo beat Bromsgrove 3-0 in the Total Motion Midland Football League lifting them up to eigth in the league.

Bromsgrove came to the Dovecote Stadium with the a league mantle of 50 games unbeaten in the last 51 games after promotion from Division one last season and looked to impose their threat early in the game.

After three minutes Josh Quaynor was just wide of the Dynamo goal and four minutes later Denham Hinds saved from Robbie Bunn with Michael Reeve clearing the resultant corner.

Shepshed settled and Shay Brennan was unlucky on seven minutes, three minutes later and Reeve and Niall Prenderville combined well with Prenderville’s effort blocked.

Shepshed’s influence in the game paid off on 16 minutes, Karl Whymark’s in swinging free kick was flicked on by Jake Betts and then Joe Pheasant headed goalwards where Betts forced a save from Bernard Bunn. Betts reacted first and fired the rebound from close range past Bunn.

Pheasant should have made it two for Dynamo on 31 minutes but he could only guide his header into Bunn, again the visitors went straight down the park with Robbie Bunn firing straight at Hinds.

Sporting looked like they had equalised on 35 minutes as Reece Hewitt’s overhead kick hit the inside of the Shepshed left upright only to rebound safely to Hinds. A minute later and Sam Wills was unable to keep his free kick under control.

Like the first half chances were a plenty for both sides. Adam Hohn’s ball across the box was cleared for a corner on 48 minutes, Betts met Ben Harris’s corner but it fell wide.

Bromsgrove again went close a minute later with Robbie Bunn finding Joe Ward but his effort was cleared off the line.

Bromsgrove were eager to keep hold of their illustrious record and went in search of an equaliser Robbie Bunn wide again on 56 minutes and then three minutes later Hinds saving from Ward. Quaynor then fired over on 61 minutes.

Like the first half Shepshed turned on the pressure again Liam Hurst’s corner deflected over on 63 minutes and from Harris’s corner, Pheasant’s header went wide.

Reeve broke into the box on 78 minutes and with only a defender and keeper to beat he was brought down in the area by Craig Jones. The referee instantly pointed to the penalty spot and under new regulations as the infringement was rewarded with a penalty Jones received a yellow card.

Troke stepped up to take the spot kick and although Bernard Bunn got hands to the ball Dynamo doubled the lead.

Shepshed sealed the much deserved three points on 86 minutes. Bernard Bunn failing to clear his lines found Hurst on the right wing to lob back into an empty net.

Bromsgrove rallied with a late surge with Hinds saving from Connor Deards twice late on and Danico Johnson firing wide.

Shepshed fully deserved their three points, an all round emphatic team performance with the determination to take the game to a team who were 10 places higher in the league.
