EVOSTIK PREMIER LEAGUE DIVISION ONE SOUTH LOUGHBOROUGH DYNAMO 4 ROMULUS 1

LOUGHBOROUGH Dynamo recorded an emphatic 4-1 home win over bottom club Romulus in their Evo-Stik League Division One South encounter.

Indeed, the scoreline could have been a much wider margin as Dynamo dominated the second half, by which time Romulus were down to 10 men.

In the seventh minute new signing Tolani Omotola, making his debut, was put through but Romulus goalkeeper Matthew Sargeant blocked his shot. The 14th minute saw a good ball find Dynamo front man Karl Demidh, whose low cross was turned wide by fellow forward Ash Hodgkinson, as he slid in, under pressure from a Romulus defender.

Two minutes later Romulus managed their first shot on goal, but Harry Harris shot high and wide.

The 21st minute saw good play around the Romulus penalty area by Dynamo with the home side’s Carl Sibson hitting a volley on the turn which was blocked by a Romulus defender. From the resulting throw-in Demidh turned the ball back to Jared Holmes, who saw his low left foot shot hit the side netting of Sargeant’s goal.

The breakthrough came in the 24th minute when Omotola was in on goal once again, Sargeant fouling the Dynamo number 11. Demidh took the resulting penalty and scored with a low shot, going in off Sargeant’s left hand post.

Two minutes later Louis Keenan drove a corner into and across the front of the Romulus goal without a Dynamo player able to get on the end of it.

Dynamo then doubled their lead when, in the 30th minute, Keenan put a low ball into the Romulus area which was turned home by Josh Riley.

Hopes of a Romulus revival were given a severe blow four minutes later. Romulus left back Nathan Hands fouled Omotola, injuring himself in the process. Referee Stuart Richardson ruled Hands the last defender and gave him a straight red card.

Dynamo maintained the pressure on the Romulus defence, Hodgkinson and Holmes both coming close to extending Dynamo’s lead, but the half time whistle blew with Dynamo still holding a two goal ahead.

This position changed in the opening exchanges of the second half, putting the game out of the visitors reach. Two minutes after the restart Dynamo right back Luke Thorogood found Demidh, who put Riley in, the Dynamo number eight turning and slotting a low drive beyond Sargeant.

In the 53d minute Omotola’s pass to Thorogood, who hit the ball first time to Riley, the former Dynamo junior club member seeing his right foot shot beat-
