THE biggest Fairtrade event in Charnwood is to return to Loughborough this November with a record number of stalls.

On Saturday, November 18, Loughborough Baptist Church will host the annual Fair Trade Fayre which will once again feature a huge selection of fairly traded gifts, crafts, food and fashions, a Fairtrade café serving drinks and delicious homemade cakes, and exciting new ethical stalls.

Jenny Drury, chair of Charnwood Action for Fairtrade, the voluntary group organising the event, said: “We’re delighted to be at Loughborough Baptist Church again this year, as it’s a great central venue on Baxter Gate that is easy for people to get to.

“And we’re thrilled to have a really wide range of stallholders – there’ll be great gift ideas such as jewellery, scarves, smellies and fashion accessories, delicious food including cakes, chocolate and hampers, and Christmas essentials such as cards, Christmas puddings, decorations and stocking fillers.

“All the stalls will be selling high quality goods that have been ethically sourced. So you can start your Christmas shopping, treat yourself and enjoy a Fairtrade coffee – and feel good about it!”

This year’s event will also feature several new stalls including Loughborough start-up Adoptd Clothing which will be selling a great range of responsibly sourced t-shirts.

There will also be local and upcycled crafts on offer.

Jenny said: “We know that lots of our visitors are concerned about sustainability and lower carbon footprints – stalls such as Purple Pumpkin Patch (crafts) and the Muto project (an upcycling project run by Falcon Support Services) will help people shop for Christmas whilst also reducing their impact on the environment.”

The Fayre is free to enter and will run from 10am-3pm.
