New festive brochure for the town

A NEW Christmas events brochure, giving residents and visitors a taste of the festive events in Loughborough, has been launched.

The brochure has been produced in partnership with Love Loughborough, Charnwood Borough Council and Capital - this year’s host for the Christmas lights switch on.

The free brochure will showcase everything from the Santa Fun Run to steam trains, carols, concerts and bands, the Christmas tree festival and pantomimes and a mix of Christmas markets and fayres.

The brochure includes all the information you need to plan your visit to Loughborough, including free car parking days, an event location map, details on how to claim the offers on the Loyalfree loyalty app and card, and where to post that important letter to Santa.

Lez Cope Newman, chair of Love Loughborough BID, said: “With so much going on in and around Loughborough, you’ll be spoilt for choice this Christmas.

“The pantomime is an absolute must for children and adults alike and this year’s light switch on looks to be a cracker with Capital’s Dino, Pete and Tyles hosting the Live Stage Show.

“Look out for Love Loughborough’s first festive fayre, on Sunday, December 10, where you can meet Santa and his reindeer and get all your purchased gifts professionally gift wrapped for free!”

Love Loughborough BID manager Lisa Brown said: “The festive programme is great this year and we hope the brochure will encourage locals and visitors to come to Loughborough to not only enjoy the entertainment but to shop and dine as well.”

Coun Jenny Bokor, lead member for Loughborough, said: “The Christmas lights switch-on will really kick things off and then there’s a host of markets and fayres in the run-up to the big day.

“There’s also free parking on Sundays and don’t forget we also still have our award-winning market.

“We’ve also got a fantastic range of shops so please pop into town, enjoy the events and the shopping and get yourself into the festive spirit.”

Copies of the brochures can be found in Loughborough Town Hall, Charnwood Museum and Loughborough Library plus in many of the local town centre businesses, or you can contact the Love Loughborough Team direct to get a copy.
