Annual meeting

-

HOW the months fly. The October meeting of Nanpantan WI was very successful with one of our members, Anne Newbon, guiding us through a practical evening of making cards.

Some appeared to be experts, while others like myself persevered and found that with encouragement we could all produce something that was of a standard to send to a friend.

November brought our annual meeting where we found that over the year we had managed to meet all our commitments and had collected some future members along the way.

We now have a new president and committee ready to face a new year in office.

Tellers were kindly provided by Thorpe Acre W.I. and the evening closed with a feely bag competition that brought some very unlikely and unrepeatable answers!

We are very pleased that we have, at last, had permission to plant daffodils in between Nanpantan Road and the slip road to celebrate the Leicestershire W.I. Centenary 2018. Many thanks go to our planters, photographer and Coun Margaret Smidowicz for their help.

We hope to see a hundred daffodils next Spring.

Our next big event is the Beacon Group Carol Concert being held at the Church of the Good Shepherd at 7pm on Monday, December 11, all members welcome.

If you are thinking of visiting Nanpantan Women’s Institute make it a New Year resolution. Come along to our meeting on Thursday, January 11,

7.30pm at Ronald West Court lounge and find out how to make 2018 the best year for friendship.
