First round upsets in Kater 4 cup

THE FIRST round games of the Winter 2017 Kater 4 Knockout cup were played last week in the Loughborou­gh & District Pubs and Clubs Darts League with three teams upsetting the form book to beat higher league opposition.

The biggest upset was Generous Briton Division Four side Tap and Clapper’s excellent 5-0 win against the Tap and Mallet JB from Wanty’s Division Two. This was closely followed by the Top Railway One Bad Apple from Jim Kidger Division Six who beat the Crown Rejects from Division Four and fellow division four side Peacock Feathers who beat the Spot On Guy ‘n’ Gals from S H Cox Division Three.

Steve Cox and Steve Folkes both hit maximums for the Royal Oak Bluemoon Foxes as they beat the Black Swan B&W and ‘Lions’ Paul Hutchins and Tony Spencer hit maximums as their Blue Ball Lions side beat the Windmill Luffs.

The Beacon, Bottom Railway Leftovers, Royal Oak DP, Windmill Wild Hearts, Twelve Degrees 26er’s, Blue Ball CS, Blue Ball MS, Black Swan Gatecrashe­rs, Blue Ball B, Barrow Cons Club Wagg’s Gang, Richmond Jukeboxers, White Hart Stags and Royal Oak Old Un’s all had byes in to the second round of the draw which will take place on Thursday, December 14, at the Three Nuns, Loughborou­gh. Once again this season the first round losing sides will be entered in to a plate competitio­n and the draw for this will take place on the same night.
