Blue Ball Lions roar to the top of Division One
THE Blue Ball Lions take over at the top of Blue Ball Division One of the Loughborough and District Pubs & Clubs Darts League after their excellent 8-1 win against Barrow Cons Wagg’s Gang last week.
Kev Bryan and James Hoult both hit maximums for the ‘Lions’ as they took advantage of Bottom Railway BA’s bye to open up a nine point lead over last season’s champions at the top. Steve Hopkins hit his third maximum of the season and Mitch Gregory his second for Spot On MP as they beat the Royal Oak Bluemoon Foxes 7-2, and Royal Oak Shooters won a tight derby game against Royal Oak DP 5-4. Rebecca Barrow also hit a maximum for the Boat House Tap Tappers as they lost 5-4 to the Three Nuns Left Footers.
In Wanty’s Division Two, leaders Black Swan Gatecrashers beat the Blacksmiths Blue Army 5-4 to remain top, whilst Tap and Mallet JB move up to second place after their 6-3 win against third place Unicorn AW.
In S H Cox Division Three the Three Nuns Exiles take over at the top after their 9-0 whitewash of Tap and Mallet CD. Sam Worthington hit his third maximum of the season for second place Peacock Rockers as they narrowly beat the Spot On Guy ‘n’ Gals and Three Nuns Albion beat the Spot On Rejects 5-4 on the final leg.
In Generous Briton Division Four Plough B lead by four points after their 6-3 win against the Peacock Feathers with Crown Rejects still unbeaten and in second place with two games in hand after they beat the Richmond Jukeboxers by the same score.
In Navigation Division Five leaders Crown Jewels Barrow remain top despite not playing after second place Bottom Railway Leftovers lost their unbeaten record 7-2 to Blue Ball CS.
Finally in Jim Kidger Division Six Blue Ball MS had a good 7-2 win against the Black Swan B&W and open up a healthy fourteen point lead over their rivals LSU Darts @ Arena and the White Hart Stags who both have a game in hand.
