BTS ACTING is a new specialist acting only session from Brightlights Theatre School launching this January.

The sessions will be held at the drama studio in Charnwood College, Thorpe Hill, Loughborough starting on Thursday, January 11.

Students will be taught by Alexander Turner and Nick Sutcliffe with guest teachers from the industry.

For the first few months the sessions will be focusing on devising and physical theatre, finding the “play” in performance, and the importance of movement and body control in theatre. For the older group they will also cover the importance of creating your own work in the modern arts environment. All of this will culminate in a completely devised performance by the end of the summer term.

BTS Acting classes are on Thursdays and run from 5.30pm–7pm for eight to 12-year-olds and 7.30pm-9pm for 13 to 18-year-olds. The cost is £10 per week.

There is also the opportunity to attend two taster sessions. If you would like to attend taster sessions it is £20 for two weeks.

A spokesperson said: “BTS Acting will operate with exactly the same ethos of inclusivity as BrightLights, where all our students are equally welcome and equally nurtured. No experience is necessary – just enthusiasm!”
