Last chance to nominate remarkable young people....
PEOPLE have just days left to show their support and appreciation for the remarkable young people of Leicester and Leicestershire for this year’s Lord-Lieutenant’s Award.
Each year, the Lord-Lieutenant celebrates the achievements of young people across the city and county.
The award scheme is open to all 13 to 19 year olds and individuals can be nominated by other young people, their school, parent or carer, as well as any other agency or individual.
People have until January 31, to submit their nominations online for this year’s Young Braveheart, Young Volunteer, Young Sportsperson and Young Artist.
The deadline for this year’s special Young Investigator category, which commemorates the centenary of the First World War, is February 9, 2018.
Lord-Lieutenant of Leicestershire, Lady Gretton, said: “As ever, the award categories highlight bravery, creativity, strength of spirit and selflessness – which amaze and inspire us all in Leicester and Leicestershire.
“I am so looking forward to hearing about the remarkable efforts of our young people and their outstanding endeavours.
“The success of these awards relies on the nominations we receive from the people of Leicester and Leicestershire who are prepared to make that special effort, so thank you to everyone for taking the time to consider these awards.”
