Raffle boost for charities
TRADESMEN at EMC Tiles in Loughborough did their bit for charity when they purchased raffle tickets for two local charities, Rainbows Trust Loughborough and Maggies Nottingham and raising £620.
EMC’s managing director, Barry Slawson also said EMC Tiles would match the donation, giving a total of funds raised to £1,240 to be split evenly between the charities.
He said: “EMC are regular contributors to local charities and are delighted in this case to have had the excellent support from our trade clients to such worthy causes. On behalf of the two nominated Charities we thank each and everyone who helped us achieve such a great result.”
Throughout December store managers and staff at EMC’s Trade centres in Nottingham, Leicester and Loughborough, were encouraging trade people to purchase tickets for £5 each to be entered into the Christ- mas charity prize draw.
The charity draw consisted of nine prizes in total with the first prize being a Philips 43” Smart TV won by Lee Sykes from Sykes Ceramics, Leicester. The second prize, a Rubi 93 Tilecutter worth £300, was won by Ian Wing, Wing Plumbing & Heating and the third prize, a Christmas beer hamper, was won by Chris Krzysztof Zoppa.
The remaining six prizes, £50 Tilemaster vouchers were donated by Tilemaster Adhesives.
Rainbows corporate partnerships fund-raiser, Emily Wright, was presented with a cheque for £620 by EMC’s showroom manager, Daniel Aneke.
Emily said: “A huge thank you to East Midlands Ceramics and their suppliers for all their hard work buying and selling tickets, donating prizes, and ultimately raising this amazing sum.”
