Advance notice of GCR road restrictions
A SERIES OF temporary road restrictions have been approved by Leicestershire County Council’s highways department for a series of events this year at Great Central Railway.
They are: Winter Gala event from Friday, January 26 to Sunday, January 28 and Autumn Steam Gala from Thursday, October 4 to Sunday, October 7: A Prohibition of Waiting at any time on Woodhouse Road, Quorn from the School sports centre entrance to the junction with Chaveney Road; Forest Road, Quorn from the junction with Chanveney Road to the entrance of Whattof Lodge Farm; Chaveney Road, Quorn from the junction with Forest Road to Toller Road, Quorn for its entire length; Westfield Lane, Rothley for approximately 100m from the junction with Swithland Lane in a South Westerly direction; Swithland Lane, Rothley for approximately 100m from Westfield Lane junction in a North Westerly direction; Lodge End, Woodthorpe, Loughborough for its entire length.
Then 1940’s War weekend from Friday, June 1 to Sunday, June 3, a model event on Friday, June 15 to Sunday, June 17 and Bonfire night event on Monday, November 5: A Prohibition of Waiting at any time on Woodhouse Road, Quorn from the School centre entrance to the junction with Chaveney Road; Forest Road, Quorn from the junction with Chanveney Road to the entrance of Whattof Lodge Farm; Chaveney Road, Quorn from the junction with Forest Road to Toller Road, Quorn for its entire length; Westfield Lane, Rothley for approximately 100m from the junction with Swithland Lane in a South Westerly direction; Swithland Lane, Rothley for approximately 100m from Westfield Lane junction in a North Westerly direction;
The final request refers to an Easter Vintage festival from Friday, March 30 to Monday, April 2: A Prohibition of Waiting at any time on Woodhouse Road, Quorn from the School centre entrance to the junction with Chaveney Road; Forest Road, Quorn from the junction with Chanveney Road to the entrance of Whattof Lodge Farm; Chaveney Road, Quorn from the junction with Forest Road to Toller Road, Quorn for its entire length.
