LOUGHBOROUGH’S world and paralympic long jump medallist Stef Reid is set to make a rare sprint appearance and major 60m debut next month.

Double Paralympic silver medallist and reigning world champion, Stef Reid will swap her favoured long jump runway for a first ever major appearance over 60m when the world class Mül- ler Indoor Grand Prix heads to Glasgow on Sunday, February 25.

The Müller Indoor Grand Prix returns to Scotland having been held in Glasgow for the first time in 2016 as the city alternates hosting with Birmingham up to 2020.

And Reid (33) will take to the track in a rare sprint appearance in Glasgow, with competition set to be led by fellow British star Sophie Kamlish.

“It’s been a whirlwind 12 months – London 2017 couldn’t have gone any better for me and it was the most perfect setting to win my first world title at home with family and friends.

“2018 is a year where I intend to challenge myself in different and exciting ways, so to com- pete in my first ever major 60m race at the Müller Indoor Grand Prix Glasgow is the perfect way to do just that.”

British Athletics’ Major Event Director, Cherry Alexander said: ““Stef is a hugely talented athlete across the board – I’m sure she is in for a more than warm reception from the crowd up in Glasgow.”
