TOTAL MOTION MIDLAND FOOTBALL LEAGUE SHEPSHED DYNAMO 2 HIGHGATE UNITED 0

SHEPSHED Dynamo gained an impressive three points against fifth placed Highgate United with an all round team performance in atrocious weather conditions.

Firstly credit has to be given to Shepshed Dynamo’s volunteers for getting the game on in the first place and secondly to both teams and officials for the way they conducted themselves on adverse and sometimes unplayable weather.

The first chance of the game fell to the visitors with Jazz Luckie firing wide on 11 minutes.

Like Tuesday night Shepshed imposed themselves on the game with Brennan’s effort going wide on 23 minutes.

But Highgate who came into the game on form were undone by a timely interception by Jake Betts on Luckie on 27 minutes, James Wilcock then fired over for United two minutes later.

Shay Brennan then forced a save from Bradley Catlow on the half hour.

Wilcock went close again for Highgate on 40 minutes his corner cleared off the line.

A minute later and Stuart Mcnaughton’s effort was blocked and before the teams went into the break level Catlow saved from Sandhu.

Liam Read had the first effort of the second half but his effort wad blocked.

Highgate posed the threat again Luckies effort blocked on 47 minutes and Adaggio wide a minute later.

Mcnaughton gave Shepshed the lead on 55 minutes firing home Liam Read’s corner, Bren- nan then flashed an effort across the box on 59 minutes.

Michael Reeve continued Shepshed’s momentum with his effort deflected into Catlow on 65 minutes, followed by a further effort from Reeve straight into Catlow straight after.

With the weather worsening chances were few and far between.

Shepshed doubled their lead on 85 minutes, Catlow bringing down Josh Barr-Rostron in the penalty area and Brennan stepped up to convert the spot kick.

Shepshed closed out the game as conditions turned treacherous and earned the deserved three points against an in form Highgate to move up to 10th place.
