Road restrictio­ns on the way for surface dressing

A SERIES of road restrictio­ns and closures have been announced across Charnwood for the coming months to enable surface dressing works to take place.

Leicesters­hire County Council Highways has agreed to a temporary traffic regulation order on a number of areas to include temporary imposition of no waiting or loading at any time, temporary prohibitio­n of through traffic, temporary speed restrictio­ns, and temporary prohibitio­n of overtaking, to enable surface dressing to be carried out safely.

These works are weather dependant. The surface dressing season commences on Monday, April 23, and runs until Friday, August 31.

Temporary prohibitio­n of waiting or loading will be in force at Byron Street, Ashleigh Drive, Cobden Street, Colgrove Road, Mountfield­s Drive, Wallace Road, Moira Street, Russel Street, Selbourne Street, Wellington Street, Factory Street, Freehold Street, Gregory Street, Peel Drive, Radmoor Road, Rutland Street, School Street, Trinity Street, Clarence Street, Meadow lane, Nottingham Road, The Coneries and Ashby Road in Loughborou­gh; Cropston Road, Church Lane, Dalby Road, Hollow Road, Kitchener Road, Latimer Street in Anstey; Main Street and Joe Moores Lane in Newtown Linford; Church Street, King Street, Green Lane Close, The Orchard and Green Lane in Seagrave; and Church Hill Road, Beverley Close, Charnwood Avenue, Checkland Road, Sandiacre Drive and Silverdale Drive in Thurmaston.

Temporary prohibitio­n of through traf- fic will affect Deans Lane in Woodhouse; King Williams Way and Church Lane in Anstey; Berrycott Lane, King Street and Church Street in Seagrave; and the slip road from the A50 to Whitwick Road in Newtown Linford.

Temporary imposition of 30mph speed restrictio­ns will affect Syston Road, Cossington; NJoe Moores Lane, Markfield Lane and Sharpley Hill in Newtown Linford; Cossington Lane in Ratcliffe on the Wreake; and Wide Lane in Wymeswold.

Leicesters­hire County Council has apologised for any inconvenie­nce caused during these works.
