• Friends of St Bartholomew’s Association: Funding will aid the development and regeneration of the ‘Peace Garden’.

• Charnwood Talking News: Funding will cover new sound and recording equipment for this organisation, who record the week’s newspaper for blind and partially sighted people.

• Upstarts Gymnastics: Funding will cover the booking of facilities for this club to train and coach more progressively.

• Glebe House: Funding will cover the cost of a trip to Loughborough Town Hall, for members of Glebe House (a charity with supports those with learning disabilities).

• John Storer House: Funding will help provide a safe shelter at John Storer Charnwood Therapeutic Allotments

• FC Cione: Funding will cover the costs of training facilities and kit for this young, expanding team.

Stakeholder Relations Manager at the University, Alison Barlow, said: “We’re delighted to be supporting some fantastic organisations with their projects for another year.

“Many of these groups do amazing work for the community but often face financial difficulties making it hard for them to run the projects or activities they’d like to. We’re happy we can lend them a hand and act as a support system.”

She added: “It is particularly rewarding to be able to support for this round of funding the projects and groups which our staff are involved in and actively support by volunteering outside of working hours.”
