SILEBY METHODIST CHURCH. What a fortnight! The service on 18th March was cancelled because of the snow and icy conditions which caught a lot of folk unawares.

Thursday, 15th and 22nd March, Cafe@Chapel did open and we are so grateful for all the support shown by our friends, thank you all so much.

The café opens at 9.30am -11am on Thursday and Saturday. Notice the changed time, 11am for closing as everyone has gone by then and the cleaning up is usually complete.

Sunday, 25th, saw Roger Latham visit Sileby for the 10.45am service. As this was Palm Sunday, the Stewards had placed Palm Crosses for everyone. We did not have a pianist but Roger was magnificent. He led us all in the hymns and we even harmonised in two of them which was great fun and showed that we are quite versatile.

Thank you Roger for a most thought provoking service which everyone enjoyed. On Easter Sunday we look forward to welcoming Rev John Pugh to lead us in worship.

Don’t forget, it is our Valuation Evening on Wednesday, 4th April from 4pm - 8pm. Vanessa Savage of Hanson’s Auctioneers will be visiting to evaluate your items and advise you in any way she can. Betty and Ann will serve refreshments and Brenda will be on the door to collect your contributions of 50p per item for Church Funds.

On Friday, April 13, there is a concert by Caroline Sharpe Singers entitled ‘A serenade for Spring’.

It commences at 7pm and the car park at the school will be open.

There are no tickets but £5 will be payable on the door and light refreshments will be included.

We look forward to this event and hope you will join us to make the evening a success.
