Wymeswold lift Intermedia­te Trophy after 10 goal epic

WYMESWOLD FC travelled to Holmes Park to play North Kilworth in the Intermedia­te Trophy County Cup Final on Tuesday night and found themselves 1-0 down within the opening minute and went further behind before pulling two goals back to be 2-2 at the interval.

North Kilworth regained the lead just after half time and then Wymeswold equalised to take it in to extra time in the 92nd minute.

In extra time Wymeswold went 5-3 up before North Kilworth pulled one back to make it 5-4, then Wymeswold completed the scoring to make it 6-4. The Wymeswold scorers were Linford Harris (2), Tom Hulett, Jack Hesketh, Sam Kee and Sam Allen.

On Thursday, the first of the two Bonser Trophy semi finals saw Shepshed Amateurs Reserves take on Asfordby Developmen­t. Shepshed Amateurs took the lead through Tom Cartwright to take them in to the interval with a 1-0 lead. Asfordby equalised in the second half through Jamie Felstead and in extra time with minutes remaining Lewis Sharp hit the winner to take Asfordby through to the final where they will play Wymeswold FC Res or Greenhill YC ‘A’.

On Saturday, a brace from Neil Thompson gave East Goscote Plumbers Premier Division Leaders East Leake a 2-1 win away at Falcons FC, James Peryer replying for the Falcons. Greenhill YC won 8-0 away at Sutton Bonington. Wymeswold FC won 2-0 at home against Sutton Bonington Academical­s, Linford Harris and Harry Bowley with the Wymeswold goals. Mountsorre­l Amateurs beat Thringston­e MW 3-1, Paul Dickens, Steve Armson and Jonathan Armson for the Ammies, Jordan Dent replying for the Miners. Sporting Markfield drew 2-2 with Cossington Saints, Kieran Harding and John Lever for Markfield, Danny Pownall and Dave Whannel for the Saints.

shedland.co.uk Division One Leaders Kegworth Imperial won 5-1 away at Measham Welfare, Joe Reynolds (3), Tom Henson and Leo Ricci for Kegworth, Darryl Towle for Measham. Shelthorpe Dynamo moved up to second spot with a 2-0 win away at Bottesford FC, Sean Warrilow hitting both the Shelthorpe goals. Shepshed Amateurs won 3-0 away at Loughborou­gh United, Matt Dadswell, Andy Hobson and Danny Wright for the Amateurs. FC Polonia won 3-0 away at FC Coalville, Dominik Klajne, Dariusz Jedracha and Szymon Zawadski with the Polonia goals. Greenhill YC Res drew 2-2 with Belton Villa.

East Leake Robins top the Sports Advocate Division Two after beating morning leaders Sileby Victoria away from home 3-2, Tom Maddison, Matthew Hall and Nathan Ball for the Robins, Liam Winnett and Jake Rimington for Sileby. Market Bosworth won 6-1 away at Thringston­e MW Reserves, while Shepshed Amateurs Res beat Loughborou­gh United Res 5-2, Duane Earp, Tom Caulfield, Ed Timmins, Nick Twells and a Kelvin Lacey own goal for the Amateurs, Sean Waters and Rob Phillips with a penalty for Loughborou­gh. Loughborou­gh Emmanuel won 5-1 away at Woodhouse Imperial, Ashley Heffer (2), Rich Cowlishaw, Tim Barrow and Craig Woolley for Emmanuel, Leon Hands for Woodhouse. A goal each from Jamie Kightley and Chris Buck gave Clawson Kings a 2-0 win away at Shepboroug­h United.

In the Windmill Trophies Division Three Asfordby Developmen­t won 2-1 at home against Quorn Rangers, Jamie Felstead bagging a brace for Asfordby, Lewis Smart for Quorn. Greenhill YC ‘A’ won 3-1 at home to Birstall Old Boys, Alan Deacon (2) and George Pemberton for Greenhill, George Agar for Birstall. Loughborou­gh FC ‘A’ won 6-1 against Mountsorre­l FC, Jamie Smith (2), Shaun Findley, Tom Belton, Jon Knight and Kai Monachello for the Luffs, Mark Williams for Mountsorre­l.
