Lottery grant for Bradgate Park and Swithland Wood
THE Bradgate Park Trust has been awarded a National Lottery grant of £39,000 from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) towards a two-year project to develop formal and informal learning across Bradgate Park and Swithland Wood.
The grant will be supporting the work of the Bradgate Park Trust, the charity that manages Brad- gate Park and Swithland Wood to develop more opportunities including school visits, holiday activities and opportunities for visitors of all ages.
As part of the project, the Trust will be developing materials for self-led educational group visits and working with youth agencies to offer opportunities to achieve badges whilst visiting the Estate.
A key element of the grant is working with volunteers to develop and build on opportunities piloted in the last year.
Peter Tyldesley, director of the Bradgate Park Trust said, “We are thrilled to have received support thanks to National Lottery players. As a charity, part of our objectives is to develop educational opportunities.
“In the last year we have offered more free tours and walks, developed our Bradgate Inspires creative programme and also recently relaunched our school’s programme at Bradgate Park.
“This grant will allow us to both support our visitors and offer opportunities for more volunteers that care and want to get involved in sharing the rich heritage.”
