SHADOWMAN #1

DC and Marvel aren’t the only publishers giving their characters a spring clean, Valiant’s getting in on the act too.

Having already established new origins for several of their heroes, it’s the turn of Shadowman to get a new direction. After years of selfimposed exile, Jack Boniface is returning home to sharpen the weapon within – the Shadowman.

Written by Andy Diggle, the man behind The Losers and Green Arrow: Year One, and with artwork by Stephen Segovia, Shadowman #1, pictured is out now priced £3.35.

NEW DELAYS FOR X-MEN

IT’S not good news for the New Mutants, they’re going to have to wait even longer for their cinema debut.

Fox has shuffled its release schedule, pushing back X-Men spinoffs The New Mutants and Dark Phoenix to 2019. That means from the three X-Men movies billed for release this year, we are just left with Deadpool 2 in June.

There is some good news though, Fox has brought forward the release of Bohemian Rhapsody, the Freddy Mercury biopic, which will now screen from early November, instead of Christmas Day.

TOY STORIES

THERE are so many great little series on Netflix that it’s possible to overlook them completely – and that was almost the case with The Toys That Made Us.

The eight-part series looks at the stories behind the toys from your childhood, with the first half of season one looking at Star Wars, GI Joe, Barbie and He-Man.

It’s fascinating stuff, and Netflix agrees, commissioning a second series of the show.

While that’s not likely to land until the end of the year, the next four episodes of series one are about to stream, focusing on Transformers, Hello Kitty, LEGO and Star Trek.
