DESIGN GURU’S PAD UP FOR SALE
You might think wealthy design fans would be queueing up to buy this house.
It’s being sold by the man credited with giving Apple products their iconic design style.
Welsh-born Ross Lovegrove was a senior creative at US firm Frog Design during the 1990s, a company that Apple boss Steve Jobs hired to give his tech the sleek look billions of people are now familiar with across the globe.
But despite the property’s design heritage as a home to one of the world’s creative geniuses who also thought up the iconic Sony Walkman portable cassette player, offers have so far been thin on the ground.
His home in Powis Mews in Notting Hill, London, was originally put up for sale in 2015 at £12m but its price has now been dropped by a jaw dropping £2.5m to stir up some interest.
The property, which has been the design HQ of Lovegrove for many years and is where he worked on his Apple and Walkman designs, has three bedrooms and is filled with light and features a dramatic spiral staircase connecting the floors.
Also, the house’s interior is the work of his architect wife, Miska Miller.
The modernist property, which replaced an older mews house used as a workshop by painter David Hockney, also has two open-plan living areas, ground floor and basement work spaces, a private roof garden and a garage.
