HUNT FOR WOLVERINE #1

WHILE Wolverine made his return to comicdom last year, his resurrection remains shrouded in mystery.

This new one-shot special begins to unravel the riddle of his revival and how he managed to escape his Adamantium tomb.

More importantly, it will begin to shed some light on why Logan is so keen to protect one of the Infinity Stones.

Written by Charles Soule, with artwork by David Marquez and Paolo Siquiera, this issue will be followed up by four different ‘Hunt for Wolverine miniseries’, which start next month.

Priced £5.20, Hunt for Wolverine #1 is out now.

N-ICE SCREENING

A VERY unusual screening is being planned for the 40th anniversary of horror hit The Thing.

Die hard fans are planning ahead to 2022, when they will gather 45 minutes outside the frozen town of Stewart, British Columbia to watch John Carpenter’s masterpiece. The trip, being organised by outpost31, will take place in the location where the movie was filmed, and explore the scattered remains of the Outpost 31 camp set, and wreckage of the Norwegian helicopter.

When it was released in 1982, The Thing – which stars Kurt Russell as helicopter pilot R.J. MacReady, above – was widely panned. But it was embraced by fans, and is recognised as one of the true cult movie classics.

MARVEL AT THE AVENGERS

THE wait is over, and this weekend is all about Avengers: Infinity War. Many, many worlds are about to collide in a film Marvel has described as ‘the most ambitious crossover event in history’.

While that’s debatable, what isn’t in question is the anticipation surrounding this movie. The lucky few who have already seen it (it premiered in LA on Monday night) are calling it a ‘masterpiece’.

Make up your own mind, when it opens in cinemas this week.
