Five divisions in place for summer league

THE SUMMER season of the Loughborou­gh and District Pubs & Clubs Darts League started last Thursday with 50 teams competing from 27 pubs and clubs in the local area making up this seasons five divisions.

In an excellent opening night of darts, 13 maximums were scored across the various divisions and Tap and Mallet JB’s Julie Booth hit a 118 finish to set the bar in the race for the highest check-out of the season.

In Blue Ball Division One last season’s top four all won and there were mixed results for the three promoted teams. Jake Selby hit two maximums and Rich Selby hit one for last season’s division two winners, Three Crowns Ghostbuste­rs, as they beat the Royal Oak DP 5-4, but both the Bull and Bush Gate Crashers and Tap and Mallet JB lost.

Across the other divisions teams will gradually get to know the strength of their new opposition as the week’s progress.
