Lions win 5-4 in top of the table encounter

BULL and Bush Lions beat the Three Crowns Ghostbuste­rs 5-4 in the first top of the table clash of Blue Ball Division One of the Loughborou­gh and District Pubs & Clubs Darts League last week. Jake Selby hit his fifth maximum of the season so far for the ‘Ghostbuste­rs’, but it was the ‘Lions’ that came out on top, and they are now the only team with a 100% record still intact in the division.

Andy Hibbert hit his first maximum of the season for the Bottom Railway BA as they move ahead of the ‘Ghostbuste­rs’ into second place with their 6-3 win against the Royal Oak Shooters. Steve Hopkins also opened his maximum account with a brace for the Spot On MP as they lost 6-3 to Barrow Cons Wagg’s Gang.

In Wanty’s Division Two Daz Beasly hit a maximum for leaders Unicorn AW as they beat the Three Nuns Right Footers 5-4, and there were maximums for ‘Gladiator’ Chris Pick and ‘Laughing Boy’ Gary Hodges in the Arena Gladiators 6-3 win against the Bull and Bush Laughing Boys. The second Bull and Bush team in the division continued their unbeaten start to the season with a 5-4 win against the Bell Foundry Blue Army and they are now just a point behind the leaders.

In S H Cox Division Three, the Spot On Foxes won their first game since joining the league with Adam Squires hitting a maximum for them in an excellent 5-4 win against third place Old English Gentleman. Spot On Reds extended their lead at the top of the division to seven points with an impressive 8-1 win against the Spot On Guy ‘n’ Gals.

In Generous Briton Division Four the Bottom Railway Leftovers lost their 100% record as they were beaten 5-4 by the Windmill Wild Hearts. They still lead the division from the Generous Briton So Certs and Top Railway Wansum, but their lead is cut to two points after the ‘Certs’ 7-2 win against the Peacock Arrows and the Top Railway lost 5-4 to the Crown Jewels Barrow. John Peacock hit a maximum for Tap and Mallet CD as they won for a second week this time 6-3 away to the White Hart Stags.

Finally in Jim Kidger Division Five Ryan Thacker hit a maximum and Nick Blackburn a 113 finish for the Black Swan BWA as they move up to third place with their 5-4 win against the leaders Generous Briton Luffs. The Tap and Clapper Rojo’s remain second after their close 5-4 victory over the Royal Oak Old Uns.
