Shepshed CC celebrate hat-trick of victories on Saturday

SHEPSHED made the short trip to Bardon Hill and like last week wasted no time in getting this game done and dusted.

Bardon batted first and were bowled out for just 69 with a superb display of bowling from Paul Felton taking 7 for 44 which included another superb boundary catch this time by youngster Harry Sloan with the ball being hit high in the air he took the ball inches from the boundary rope.

Shepshed set about the Bardon bowling and within eight overs the game was won with Matt Taylor 33 not out but after losing Andrew Gibson for 27 in came Karl Shaw who hit the winning runs with a four.

Another quick win for Shepshed who sit second in the league but it is still early days and there are still some tough games to come but at this stage of the season Shepshed must be happy with their season’s work so far.

Meanwhile Shepshed’s 2nd XI entertaine­d Long Wharton C.C. 2nd XI and like the 1st XI took no time in winning this match.

Long Whatton batted first but could only score 95 with Dave Kershaw the pick of the bowlers taking three wickets backed up with two wickets apiece for Chris Burton, Jake Lister and Josh Wicks.

Shepshed then knocked off the runs required with Chris Gibson 35 and Ben Clarke 30 seeing Shepshed home for their first win of the season.

Shepshed 3rd XI played host to Ratby 2nd XI in a fiery affair witch tested the patience of both teams, Shepshed batting first scored 210 for 6 with Duncan Bottrill top scoring with 99, while Ratby in reply were bowled out for 133.
