Team Wallhead set for Hermitage fight night action this weekend

-

MEMBERS of Team Wallhead are preparing to go into battle again.

Boss ‘Judo’ Jimmy Wallhead has 12 of his fighters matched at Hermitage Leisure Centre in Whitwick on the latest Fight UK show on Saturday, (June 2) – including Danielle Hutton.

The 21-year-old bantamweight from Shepshed has won all three fights – and faces a step up this weekend.

Molly Lyndsey is the Battle Arena European champion and Wallhead said: “It’s a good test for Danielle, but she’s ready.

“She was2-0 when she came to me about 18 month ago and has improved no end. She beat a very good girl in her last fight and is very dedicated.”

Loughborough brothers Jamie and Bobby Murray are also matched up.

Jamie goes into the fight boosted by a good win on the last Fight UK show – and Wallhead also has high hopes for who he calls “my ginger apprentice.”

He said: “Bobby helps me with the coaching at the gym and he remembers all the stuff I forget! His fighting career has been a bit up and down, but he’s a good fighter and has a good MMA brain.”

Loughborough fighters Scott Smith and Dan Hepworth are also in action.

Hepwroth defends his Fight UK amateur welterweight title – and more than 1,000 fans should see him in action.

Fight UK shows have been attracting big crowds since Wallhead and Gray Ridgway joined the team and Wallhead said: “We’ve put a lot of work into the last two shows and they were really good, but the fights on this one are even better.

“We’ve got some of the best talent in the UK coming to Leicestershire.

“People are hearing about the shows, how well the fighters are being treated and they want to be a part of it. They are ringing us up and asking to be on the shows. The feedback we have been getting from fighters and fans has been great.”
