Resolution in the spotlight

-

THERE was no speaker at the April meeting of Loughborough Ladies WI,

as they considered the WI Resolution for 2018: ‘Urging WI members to recognise the importance of parity between mental health and physical health, to take action to make it acceptable to talk about mental health issues as much as physical health issues, and to lobby government for better support for mental illness’.

Following information on the topic given by the president and a discussion, the ladies voted unanimously to support the resolution at the WI Annual Meeting in Cardiff in June 2018. This was followed by a ‘ Try and Taste’ buffet, thank you to all who provided a very tasty and varied selection of food.

Ladies from the Beacon Group of WIs have enjoyed two taster sessions of Walking Netball, arranged by a member of the Group. Both were well attended and enjoyed by all who took part.

After warm up exercises, the coach organised routines to practice ball passing and shooting techniques. Following the success of these sessions, further sessions will be held at the Charnwood Leisure Centre starting at 7pm on Tuesday, 5th June. Each session will cost £2.50 per person.
