Youngsters to audition for roles in the festive panto
BOYS and girls from Leicestershire who have that extra special star quality are being encouraged to go along to De Montfort Hall and audition for the Christmas pantomime.
This year’s spectacular show will be an adaptation of the much-loved JM Barrie classic Peter Pan and De Montfort Hall are hoping for some talented youngsters to join the cast alongside superstar Sam Bailey and BBC Radio Leicester’s Martin Ballard.
This year in addition to the Junior Chorus, open to both boys and girls, De Montfort Hall are looking for boys to play the roles of John and Michael, who fly off with Peter Pan for adventures in Neverland.
Steve Boden from Imagine Theatre, producers of the panto said: “As with the panto every year we need boys and girls for the Junior Chorus, but this year we also need to fill the roles of Wendy’s two younger brothers, John and Michael. The roles of John and Michael are quite large as they have a lot of lines in the show and are involved with the fights against the evil pirates, headed by the dastardly Captain Hook, so we are looking for some very talented children to play these characters.”
Auditions for both John and Michael and the Junior Chorus are open to children between the ages of nine and 16 and are taking place at De Montfort Hall on Sunday, June 17, at 9.30am.
For those auditioning for the roles of John and Michael it is requested that application forms be sent to producers, Imagine Theatre, in advance, but for those auditioning for the Junior Chorus they are requested to just bring completed forms with them on the day.
More information on the auditions and application forms can be found at demontforthall.co.uk
The show runs from Saturday, December 15, until Sunday, January 6, 2019.
