JUDGE DREDD UNDER SIEGE #1
THE law makes a return to comic books this week, with the launch of a brand new Judge Dredd series.
Under Siege finds Dredd in serious trouble after going to investigate why contact has been lost with Patrick Swayze Block.
The four-part storylines is a dark, satirical reboot of the character under writer Mark Russell (The Flintstones, God Is Disappointed in You) for USbased IDW Publishing.
It continues IDW’s relationship with Rebellion, the publisher of 2000 AD.
With art by Max Dunbar (Gears of War), Judge Dredd Under Siege #1 is out now priced £3.35.
HAN’S DOWN
FOR such a fun movie, Solo: A Star Wars Story, doesn’t seem to have connected with audiences.
It was projected to have a combine domestic and overseas opening box office weekend of around £300m. In fact, it’s taken closer to £148m.
Solo had a troubled shoot, with original directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller being fired with a few week’s left in production, to be replaced by Ron Howard.
It also hasn’t been helped that the movie was released so quickly on the back of Avengers: Infinity War and Deadpool 2, leaving cinema goers exhausted.
But none of this should stop you going to see what is an incredibly fun movie.
BACK IN BLACK
ACTION star Liam Neeson has been signed to appear in the new Men In Black spin-off.
While this film is set in the same universe as the first three MIB films, this will follow the adventures of two new agents – played by Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson.
Variety is reporting that Neeson will play the pair’s boss, running their operations from London.
Fast & Furious 8 director F Gary Gray will be at the helm of the movie, scheduled to hit cinemas on June 14, 2019.
