WEDNESDAY FILM SHOW. June’s film on Wednesday 13th June is “Darkest Hour” a biography, drama, history.

It stars Gary Oldman as Winston Churchill. In May 1940 the fate of Western Europe hangs on the British Prime minister, who must decide whether to negotiate with Adolf Hitler, or fight on knowing it could mean a humiliatin­g defeat for Britain and its empire.

Gary Oldman won the BAFTA award for Best Actor in a leading role. The film also stars Kristin Scott Thomas, Lily James and Ronald Pickup.

The screening is in The Village Hall and starts at 2pm. Pay £4 at the door to include tea, biscuits and a free raffle ticket.
