FATHER’S DAY BREAKFAST BARBECUE. Diseworth Village Hall is staging a special Father’s Day Breakfast Barbecue on Sunday, June 17, from 9.30am, with a running time of two hours.

The message out to the village is: “Treat Dad to a special breakfast. Fathers, Non-Fathers and families welcome. Tickets for the large breakfast are £6, and for the small breakfast £4, with tea or coffee £1.

A plea is made for early contact with the two or any committee member to help with catering arrangemen­ts.

PARISH FUNDING HELP FOR ORGANISATI­ONS. Parish councillor­s at Long Whatton and Diseworth have agreed financial contributi­ons towards several organisati­ons in the two villages.

The Over 60’s Lunch Club are to be given £180.00 which was proposed by Coun S Roberts and seconded by Coun P Gillatt. The Long Whatton Parent and Teachers Associatio­n are to be given £200, proposed by Coun P Gillatt and seconded by Coun D Bamford.

The Long Whatton Cricket Club are also being given £200, proposed by Coun P Gillatt and seconded by Coun D Bamford.

SPORTS DAY AND SUMMER FAIR. The annual Friends of Diseworth school Sports Day and Summer Fair is taking place on Saturday, June 23, and will run for five hours from 12noon.

The organisers are hoping to be able to stage a display of vintage or classic vehicles at the fundraisin­g event and have put out an invitation to anyone who is willing and able to display their vehicle or know of anyone else who`d be interested.
