GIMSON FAMILY. Join us on Thursday, June 21, at 10.30am at Hoton Village Hall

Tea, coffee and cakes with a talk by Mark Temple about the National Trust house Stoneywell.

Stoneywell is the only National Trust House in Leicestershire

Mark will take us through the history of this delightful Arts and Crafts house at Stoneywell and the history of the Gimson family.

Stoneywell is the epitome of William Morris’ golden rule: ‘have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful’.

Ernest Gimson was described as a ‘thinker, an explorer , a teacher”, Ernest became one of the most inspiring and influential architect-designers of the British Arts and Crafts Movements.

Find out why so many of the principles of the Arts and Craft Movement were important in creating the house at Stoneywell.

Doors open at 10.30am for coffee, with the talk starting at around 11.30am

There is no charge, just drop in, all welcome.
