Medieval witchcraft..

-

THE next meeting of the Leicestershire and Rutland Family History Society, Loughborough Group, is being held on Tuesday, June 19 with a talk: The Wise Woman, by Chris Carr.

This is a talk about spells and witchcraft in the medieval period - the truth about medieval attitudes may surprise you! Chris delivers her talk in medieval dress and will bring artifacts to illustrate her presentation.

Our meetings take place at All Saints Church Hall, Thorpe Acre Road, Loughborough LE11 4NF. Car parking is conveniently located and there is easy access for wheelchair users. Visitors are welcome to come along to any of our meetings as a taster before joining the group.

Doors are open from 6.45pm and the meeting starts at 7.30pm. Tea and coffee will be available plus a selection of CDs of births, marriages and deaths listed in the Society’s Journal plus books and maps of local interest for members and guests to browse.

This will be our last indoor meeting until September but we have an outing to Bletchley Park planned for Saturday, July 7. Further information regarding our programme can be viewed at www.lrfhs.org.uk
