Snowdon challenge nets £2,500

-

METAL manufacturer JC Metalworks of Loughborough has raised more than £2,500 for Rainbows Hospice by trekking Snowdon.

The team of 22 from JC included employees, directors, partners, sub-contractors, family, friends and children.

Nick Oakland, managing director of JC Metalworks said: “It was very much a family affair and we had a great time! Everyone completed the challenge and we were blessed with beautiful weather”

The team, who have been in training for the past couple of months, took the Llanberis path to the top of Snowdon.

Meenal Mistry, sales administrator, added “It took us about four hours to get up and two hours to get down – almost exactly what Philip Vose – our trek team leader – estimated us to do it in!

“I’ve only been at JC since January and it was a great way to get to know my colleagues more as well as do something to really help a local charity that I know JC have been supporting for many years.”

Kate Golding, head of organisational giving at Rainbows Hospice said: “JC have been huge supporters of ours for a long time and we are always so grateful to them for their activity and fund-raising. To raise this amount of money is an incredible feat, as is trekking Snowdon! Many thanks to everyone who took part as well as those who donated!”
