‘Have a go’ at Rothley Park golf academy

-

ROTHLEY PARK GOLF academy is inviting people interested in taking up the sport to ‘have a go’ with a series of lessons with the club’s golf professional.

Professional Katie Tebbet said the academy is an ideal opportunity to learn how to play golf with the full use of the club’s practice facilities.

“The academy is aimed at adults beginners, those who have dabbled at the game but never really got going and those who have played a bit but not for the past few years and need help to get back playing. You don’t need to be a club member, you don’t need to have a golf handicap and you don’t even have to own golf clubs, we are happy to lend you what you need at this stage.”

Amanda Morgan, is the academy co-ordinator and explained it’s a great way to find out if golf is for you or, if you are already a golfer, but not currently a club member, it’s an excellent way to meet our members and get your game back in shape.

“Last year we had a great group in the academy, most of whom have now joined as full time members.

“The feedback we received was that coaching and playing together created new friendships and gave Academy members the confidence to really give it a go.

“We are happy to loan clubs to new golfers and if you decide golf is for you, then the club professional’s shop will give you sound advice on clubs as well as a members discount.”
