New challenge for businesswoman

-

A SHEPSHED businesswoman has swapped the catering world for bookkeeping following a life changing injury.

At the end of 2016, Jo Finch broke her elbow in a fall and needed two hospital operations, preventing her from running her catering business Love Lunch Catering Ltd.

Unfortunately there were complications and she lost significant movement in her arm, which may never be regained. Ten months after the accident, Jo was able to return to work but was unable to continue in the catering business.

Determined to start a new business which would help other local businesses, she has launched her new company Charnwood Bookkeeping.

Licenced and regulated by the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers (ICB), Jo spent four months studying with Ideal Schools to gain the qualifications to operate her own professional bookkeeping practice.

She said: “I wanted to set up a business which could provide more than just bookkeeping. With my knowledge and experience I can analyse the financial health of a business and provide a tailor-made service to add significant value.

“This includes helping new businesses to set up their finances so they can concentrate on developing their venture. I want to provide a complete financial service, including Self Assessment tax returns and payroll management.

“I am delighted to be back to work and feel stronger than ever. My new business is going well and I am enjoying working with small businesses, including sole traders, partnerships and not-for-profit organisations. I want to help business owners do what they do best and let me take care of the rest.”
