Comedians to bring laughter to Convoy in the Park event

-

A TRIO of up-and-coming comedians will have audiences revved up for a laugh at Donington’s Convoy in the Park, on the evening of Saturday, July 21.

In conjunction with charity Stand Up for Humanity, the trio will take to the stage at the Big Top circus tent, raising money for women in rural India and Africa to enable them to start their own business.

First up is Roger Monkhouse, a writer on Channel 4’s hit panel show 8 Out of 10 Cats and a regular at the legendary London Comedy Store as part of the ‘Cutting Edge’ team. Described by the Manchester Evening News as having ‘an enthusiasm akin to that of an excitable professor who’s just found the gene that would enable a python to grow a beard,” Monkhouse, no relation to Bob, has performed internationally, including the Middle East, Singapore, South Africa and Japan.

His TV credits include The World Stands Up (Comedy Central), My God I’m My Dad (Bravo) and Street Cred Sudoku (UK Gold), while radio appearances include Jest a Minute (BBC Radio Wales) and Serious About Comedy (BBC 7).

Chris Norton Walker is next up, a regular on the Brighton and Manchester comedy circuits with a brand of one-liners, hilarious anecdotes and a commanding stage presence that has seen him also tour in Europe and at The Comedy Store in Los Angeles.

Finally, Paul T Eyres will give the audience giggles. He is known for rallying against the stereotypes and assumptions that are ingrained into our culture, and his Edinburgh shows regularly sell out.

The Saturday evening comedy show is just one of a number of highlights at Convoy in the Park, which features exciting racing from the British Truck Racing Championship and a full support package, as well as a huge variety of entertainment around the venue.
