Hutchins sets new league record for 180s

PAUL Hutchins hit a league record four maximums in a night for the Bull and Bush Lions but still ended up on the losing side as the ‘Lions’ were beaten 6-3 by Bottom Railway BA in the top of table clash of Blue Ball Division One of the Loughborou­gh and District Pubs & Clubs Darts League last week.

As a result at the half way stage of the season Bottom Railway take over at the top of the division by two points from the ‘Lions’, with Royal Oak DP who lost to the Royal Oak Shooters 5-4 in third, and Spot On MP up to fourth after their 7-2 win against the Bull and Bush Gatecrashe­rs.

Kelly Welsh hit her second maximum of the season for the Boathouse Tap Tappers as they beat the Three Crowns Ghostbuste­rs 5-4 and Barrow Cons Wagg’s Gang beat Tap and Mallet JB 7-2.

In Wanty’s Division Two leaders Unicorn AW were beaten 5-4 by Fat Sam’s 26er’s, and the Bull and Bush were finally beaten after eight straight wins losing 6-3 to the Spot On Rejects. The results mean that the Unicorn still lead the division by three points from the Bull and Bush with Fat Sam’s 26er’s in third place.

In S H Cox Division Three leaders Spot On Reds got back to winning ways with a 7-2 win against the Three Nuns Albion but second place Crown Court lost ground as they were beaten 5-4 by Black Swan JS and are now eight points behind the leaders. Old English Gentleman beat the Spot On Guys ‘n’ Gals 5-4 to leapfrog them into third place and there were maximums for Fat Sam’s B Paul Ryecroft and Dewdrop Blues Derek Guess, his second of the season, in Fat Sam’s narrow 5-4 win.

In Generous Briton Division Four leaders Bottom Railway Leftovers did not play so Generous Briton So Certs move within five points of them after their 7-2 win against the Crown Jewels Barrow, whilst in Jim Kidger Division Five Tap and Clapper Rojo’s had the biggest winning margin of the night with a 9-0 whitewash of the Three Nuns Bad Habits. With the Royal Oak Old Uns also having a big win against their compatriot­s the Royal Oak Oakers, only five points now separate the top five teams in the division.
