Williams stars with the bat and ball for Kegworth

KEGWORTH’S overseas star Brent Williams hit an unbeaten 124 as they secured an eight wicket away win at Barkby on Saturday in the Premier Division of the Leicesters­hire and Rutland Cricket League.

Batting first Barkby made 211 all out, with George Scottorn taking 4-46 and Brent Williams claiming 4-27.

In reply, Kegworth lost opener Adam Meads for 10 and Luke Woolley for two but Brent Williams hit 124 not out and James Dickinson added an unbeaten 37 as they reached 212-2 in 33 overs for victory and 25 points.

Elsewhere Sileby also secured victory with a convincing nine wicket win over Langtons. Langtons wson the toss and elected to bat first making 133 all out, with Ryan Dawson the pick of the Sileby bowlers taking 4-35. In reply Sileby made 134-1 in just 27 overs, with Dave Torr hitting an unbeaten 61.

There were defeats for both Barrow Town and Loughborou­gh Town.

Barrow travelled to Uppingham and it was the hosts who won by 25 runs for their first league win of the season. Uppingham made 250-8 and then bowled out Barrow for 224 despite a knock of 69 from opener Ramesh Kara.

Loughborou­gh played host to Kibworth and it was the visitors who made an impressive 334-6 and in reply Loughborou­gh lost wickets at regular intervals, being bowled out for 161 to lose by 173 runs.
