THE CLAWS ARE OFF

LOVE has been in the air in superhero land with weddings galore. First it was an X-Men marriage, then Catwoman and Batman finally walked down the aisle. And it’s in the aftermath of the big day where Catwoman #1 picks up.

This new monthly series sees Selina Wayne attract some unwanted attention from the Mob, and clash claws with an all-new villain determined to make trouble for the Bat-Bride.

Written and illustrated by Eisner Award-nominee Joëlle Jones, Catwoman #1 is out now priced £3.35.

MARVEL-LOUS POPS

WHILE I’m still trying to decide if I like the idea of the new Venom movie, a new wave of Funko Pops is trying to sway my feelings.

Ahead of the summer’s Comic Cons, Funko has revealed a whole swath of new figures – including ‘Venomised’ versions of some Marvel favourites.

The series will include Hulk, Iron Man, Captain America and of course Eddie Brock himself.

There’s no release date as yet, but keep a beady eye out.

SONIC BOOM FOR CARREY?

IN welcome news this week, it’s been revealed that Jim Carrey could soon be back on the big screen.

The funnyman has been missing from movies for a while now, channelling his energy into his art. But it’s being reported that he’s in negotiations to play Eggman/Dr. Robotnik in an upcoming Sonic The Hedgehog film adaptation.

Deadline says Carrey and his representatives are in talks with Paramount executives to secure the villainous role. Fingers crossed, the deal is finalised soon.
