Get out of the sun and into these hot releases

-

ITHINK it’s fair to say the weather has been absolutely scorching.

And as we enter the new month of July, there’s no sign of the heatwave ending.

This month also sees the release of some new games – a few of which may even tempt you in from the garden.

There’s a slew of PS4 budget releases with the new PlayStation Hits series, Hello Neighbour makes its debut on the Switch and there’s a Lego Incredibles game – just in time for the new movie’s release. JURASSIC WORLD EVOLUTION PS4, XBOX ONE, PC. Release: July 3 IF you read last week’s page and, like me, thought you could run Jurassic Park better than the Hammonds – well now’s your chance.

Lovingly created by Frontier Developments, who have clearly taken inspiration from both the books and the movies, Evolution is immense fun.

Build your park from the ground up, send out miners to find you new dino DNA and then get your lab technicians to incubate you a new dinosaur.

While the first few hours can get a little repetitive, the real fun starts when your prehistoric beasties get bored, and break out of their pens for a little al fresco dining. LEGO THE INCREDIBLES PS4, XBOX ONE, Switch. Release: July 13 I HAVE to say admit I’m more excited than I should be about the sequel to Pixar’s smash The Incredibles, which hits cinemas next weekend. And, as if that wasn’t enough, there’s a new Lego game to go with it.

This title takes you on a journey through the events of both The Incredibles films, but in a twist, starts the action with the second film. Look out for Pixar Easter Eggs and references as you play your way through the weird and wonderful world of The Parr family.

If you’re planning on playing the game before watching the film – be warned, it’s spoiler heavy. OCTOPATH TRAVELER Switch. Release: July 13 THIS open-world RPG is quite something to look at, and if early reviews are to be believed, quite something to play too.

You play as one of eight travellers, all with their own origins, paths, goals and each beginning their journey in a unique way.

Each traveller has a distinct Path Action, a specialised way of achieving objectives and interacting with people you encounter.

The warrior can “challenge” people to a duel, whereas the dancer can “allure” others to follow her.

Combat revolves around a Boost system, a fusion of traditional turn-based battling and modern enhancements.

Each turn, you build up BP that can be spent to dramatically increase your strength or provide aid. Identifying when to Boost may just be the key to victory.

The new demo lets you play the first three hours of the game a few weeks early – trust me, you’ll struggle to put it down. PLAYSTATION HITS PS4 Release: July 18 SOME stellar PS titles get a budget make-over this month, each costing just £15.99.

Among the myriad titles is Uncharted 4, Doom, Bloodborne, Batman Arkham Knight, and Watch_Dogs.

It’s been a while since I saw a budget range this good – and all titles will be available both digitally through the PlayStation Store, or as a physical disc.

This is a great opportunity to catch up on any of the games you may have missed, at prices that won’t break the bank. HELLO NEIGHBOR Switch, PS4. Release: July 27 HELLO Neighbor has proven a sleeper hit – with the characters even being immortalised as Funko Pops.

The object of the game is simple. Sneak into your neighbour’s house, and uncover clues to solve the ‘horrible secret’ that’s lurking in the basement. Sounds easy, right?

Except the game’s AI modifies the neighbour’s actions based on your gameplay, meaning you have to alter your tactics every time you venture over the road, or end up as a bump in the turf.

This game got a release at Christmas for Xbox and PC players, but now PS4 and Switch owners can pit their collective wits against the sinister man with the shovel.
