Leicester submits Seagrave training ground plans
LEICESTER City Football Club have officially submitted plans for their new training ground on the site of the former Park Hill Golf Club in Seagrave.
The planning application has been sent in to Charnwood Borough Council and include staggering images of what the proposed centre would look like.
The application includes 14 grass and artificial pitches, an indoor facility, and a nine-hole golf course.
There is also a show pitch with a 499 seat spectator stand as well as a multi-sports hall and parents’ pavilion.
The £80m state-of-the-art training facility, will see all the club’s teams based at the 180 acre site.
A previous club statement said “The new training centre will include facilities for the club’s first team, development squad and academy setups, as well as facilities to support the club’s community programme and its efforts to promote inclusion and sports participation throughout the region.”
Leicester City vice chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha said: “We want to invest in the best possible training facilities to develop and attract the world’s elite sporting talent to Leicester and to give them a competitive edge in a game that is constantly evolving.
“It is crucial to us that the benefits brought about by the new development make the facility a source of pride for the Leicestershire community – known for so many years for its rich tradition in sporting development.”
