HOLMES, SWEET HOLMES IN NEW TAKE ON CLASSIC

-

THE SIGN OF FOUR Palace Theatre, Newark

A THRILLING tale of Sherlock Holmes will be retold in the faithful adaptation The Sign Of Four, coming to Newark’s Palace Theatre this November.

Written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and adapted by Nick Lane, the production tells the story of Mary Morstan arriving at 221B, Baker Street in the hopes of finding out what happened to her missing father.

Speaking of the production, Nick said: “I don’t think I know anyone over the age of 10 who doesn’t know at least the name Sherlock Holmes.

“He is part of the literary fabric of this country – hugely popular and hugely adaptable – and his cases with Watson are a blueprint for so many crime novels, films, TV shows and theatre.

“We have approached this adaptation in a stylised way which will appeal to avid fans of the novel as well as those who simply want to come to the theatre and enjoy a rattling good crime story!”

Sherlock Holmes himself takes on the mystery to crack the case, before unravelling a complex plot with his sidekick Dr Watson with thrilling twists and turns involving murder, corruption and even some stolen jewels.

The new stage adaptation will bring together original live music and a talented cast of actors who will work together to tell the infamous story of the world-famous detective.

The Sign of Four will play at Palace Theatre in Newark on November 23 and 24. Tickets are available now for £19.50 from palacenewarktickets.com
