Foxes trio are selected for charity match

-

THREE Loughborough Foxes players have been selected to play for a Womens National League team in a special charity match to raise money for Grenfell.

The Charity Trophy match at 2pm on Sunday (August 12) at Boreham Wood FC, will see a host of Ex-England All Stars play an WNL select side in support of charity organisations in providing day trips and retreat opportunities for those affected by the Grenfell fire.

The charities of choice are The Grenfell Foundation and The Harrow Club - both of whom have been ever present supporters within the community before, during and after the tragic event. The monies raised will continue to focus on mental health and well-being and to offer the much-needed respite and continuing opportunities to leave the area and the ongoing visuals of the tower.

Loughborough’s Shauna Chambers, Chloe Young and Jodie Bartle will be lining up for the WNL team against an All Stars team of former England players which will feature Kelly Smith MBE, Rachel Yankey OBE and Marienne Spacey MBE.

FA WNL Chairman Carol West said “The Grenfell Tower tragedy continues to affect those that lost friends, family and loved ones as well as those still living in its shadow in the local community.

“We are honoured and humbled to be able to have the opportunity to support such deserving charities and hope we get a big crowd to raise as much money as possible.”
