Laithan Hammond scored four times for last season’s Leicestershire Senior League champions, Sean Woolley helped himself to a hat-trick and the rest of the goals were shared between Billy Blackshaw, Dan Jelley, Sam Kee and Lloyd Tapper. Arnold’s sole reply came from a Curtis Millward spot kick.

On Bank Holiday Monday, Ingles beat Ashby Ivanhoe with a 2-1 win in front of a crowd of 164 with all the goals coming in the first 20 minutes.

Sam Key put the home side in front on five minutes and a Sean Woolley penalty ten minutes later doubled the advantage. Sam Carline pulled one back on 19 minutes but neither side could find the net again.

The highest scoring game of the day had flurries of goals at both ends of the encounter and saw Barrow Town beat Clifton All Whites 5-4.

The Riversiders’ goals came from Dan Sheahan, Ben Law and a hat-trick from Zak Ginvert.
