Stoppage time goal condemns Shepshed to defeat

-

MIDLAND FOOTBALL LEAGUE SHEPSHED DYNAMO 1 WORCESTER CITY 2 A LATE goal condemned Shepshed Dynamo to another Dovecote defeat which leaves them just one place of the bottom of the table after six games of the campaign.

It was Worcester who made an enterprising start to the game and Shepshed keeper Brandon Ganley was forced into making a good save to keep out George Forsyth’s low strike within the first 60 seconds.

Then Celson Patrocinio appeared to have put Dynamo ahead after Joe Pheasant met Karl Whymark’s corner, but Worcester keeper Dan Jezeph was able to gather the ball.

Dynamo were made to pay for that missed chance when Worcester took the lead in the 11th minute through Tyler Weir and nearly doubled it moments later but Reynolds saw his shot parried by Ganley.

Worcester were reduced to 10 men when Jamie Smith saw red after carelessly felling Ryan Robbins just outside the area and Shepshed Dynamo looked to make the most of the extra man but were constantly thwarted by Jezeph in the visitor’s goal.

But they finally equalised in the 81st minute when Jordan Smith rose to guide home a looping header from a Whymark free-kick.

Dynamo went in search of a winner but in doing so were vulnerable at the back and from a Jezeph kick upfield, Kyonn Evans flicked the ball onto fellow sub Liam Lockett who prodded the ball past Ganley to snatch all three points for Worcester in stoppage time.
