COME and experience Rainbows through the eyes of its children, young people and their families.

That’s the message from the Loughborough hospice, which is throwing its doors wide open to the public for a fun-filled day of celebration.

An open invitation has been issued to people to visit the hospice on Satur- day, September 15, to view the facilities, enjoy the gardens – and obtain a sense of how the charity provides vital support to youngsters and their families, when they need it most.

Last year’s Open Day broke records for Rainbows, with more than 1,000 people visiting the hospice – and this year’s free event is set to be bigger and brighter.

On the day, there will be the chance to explore the hospice and for visitors to see for themselves what makes Rainbows so special. From the multi-sensory room and hydrotherapy pool, to the arts and crafts room. There’s also the chance to explore the improved gardens, including the new music area.

The Rainbows team will also be on hand to provide demonstrations throughout the day of the work they do.

Nancy Lillington, events manager at Rainbows, said: “Our Open Day is about celebrating the real VIPs, our supporters – old and new. We want everyone to come and see first-hand how their efforts are put to good use.

“Visitors are encouraged to get involved in the activities on the day, to explore the hospice and see it through the eyes of our children and young people. Our incredible team will be on hand to answer any questions too.”

Everyone is welcome on the day, whether you’re new to Rainbows or already a supporter. There will be the chance to enjoy live music, arts and craft stalls, tea, cake, pizza and a large BBQ. Visitors can also try their hand at a range of activities, including an onsite cycling challenge or sample our gym facilities.

Children of all ages are also encouraged to enjoy the soft play area, have fun in the outside play area and try their hand at arts and crafts.

The Rainbows Community Open Day takes place at the hospice at Lark Rise, Loughborough, Leicestershire from 10.30am to 3pm, on Saturday, September 15.
