Darkly comic evening of three short plays

-

CORNWALL-BASED company, ‘Owdyado Theatre are heading to Kegworth this autumn with their eagerly awaited, brand new show, Twisted Tales.

Twisted Tales is set to be a darkly comic evening of three short plays brought together by a team of writers and directors.

Expect gripping and hilariously twisted, thrillers inspired by the cult classics ‘Twilight Zone’ and the hit BBC TV series ‘Inside Number Nine’.

Kegworth Plan Group and ‘Owdyado Theatre will present Twisted Tales at Kegworth Village Hall on Saturday, September 29, at 7.30pm. For tickets, priced £10, call 07885 538703 or 01509 673138.

In the skilful hands of ‘Owdyado’s lead actors and company founders Charlotte and Dan, the show will present three curious and intriguing stories: Why have three strangers been summoned to play a deadly locked-room mystery?; Who is the bandaged man, obsessively in love and held captive inside an upmarket flat?; How will two children’s TV presenters and a criminal-

mastermind glove puppet dispose of a corpse before time runs out?

Twisted Tales promises to be an anarchic night of con-

torted, riotous tales where punters will be invited to consider how far would they go to get what they want.

As their fifth touring show, Twisted Tales is set to continue to build upon their unique style for slick, detailed and comedic work and is eagerly anticipated.

Charlotte Bister and Dan Richards have written ‘ Vindicta Games’, the first short play of the evening.

With writing from three distinct voices, ‘Owdyado are collaborating with some of Cornwall’s finest creatives on the show including Jon Welch (Spillikin and Cube Theate) and Brett Harvey. As a film-maker, Brett normally writes scripts for the screen.

When asked what is was like to write in an entirely different medium, he said: “It was a genuine pleasure. Dan, Char and I have a very similar sense of humour so it was fun cooking up something for them. They immediately got the tone of it and every step of its development has been a madcap, joyous, bizarre journey.”

Twisted Tales is ‘Owdyado Theatre’s fifth show and will be touring across the country throughout 2018 supported by funding from FEAST and Arts Council England. For more information visit www.owdyado.co. uk
